Moving Ahead in the Digital Age Community Forum!
Alan November, a renowned leader in international education technology and innovation, will be the keynote speaker for “Moving Ahead in the Digital Age.” This free event is open to the public and will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Arcadia Performing Arts Center located on the campus of Arcadia High School. Common Core Days Added Next Year
Arcadia Unified School District is pleased to announce that seven Common Core Days have been added to the 2014-2015 school year. All students will be released at 11:40 a.m. on Common Core Days. Read more here

Smoke Signals

Attention parents of 8th grade students! Smoke Signals is an electronic newsletter that provides information to 8th grade students and their families about important events and activities at Arcadia High School. Freshman year is a short year away and there is no better time than now to get acquainted with all that the high school has to offer. Learn about athletic events, clubs, music groups, theater productions and more through this important publication. Click here to see the current issue of Smoke Signals. 
Canned Food Drive

Dana's annual Canned Food Drive will span two weeks this year, running from Monday, October 6th - Friday, October 10th and then again from Monday, October 20th to Friday, October 24th.  Students will have the opportunity to compete for prizes with their grade level classmates while helping end hunger in Arcadia.
 
Commit to Student Success Week

Monday, September 29 - Friday, October 3 will be "Commit to Student Success" week at Dana! During this AVID-inspired week, students will complete and activity each day during Advisory that explores the concept of what it means to be successful.  The daily topics are as follows:

Future Friday
 
On Future Friday, students should wear a college t-shirt to school.  Thank you for supporting this theme-week! 
Catalina Science Academy

On October 14, 2014, Dana's seventh grade students and their teachers will depart for four days of science on Catalina Island! If you still haven't signed up, it's not too late, but please do so ASAP! Catalina is only about 30 days away and counting!

When: October 14-17, 2014
Cost: $400 all-inclusive
Due: ASAP!

PTA Reflections Contest

The theme for the 2014-2015 PTA Reflections Contest will be, "The world would be a better place if...."  Categories include dance choreography, music composition, film production, photography, literature, and visual arts.  Please click here to view the flier with more details.  Entries will be due October 9.
