Arcadia Unified Gives Every Student a Chromebook

Each of the nearly 10,000 students in the Arcadia Unified School District now has their own Chromebook. All middle school and high school students can even bring their Chromebooks home to use. The 1:1 Student to Technology device program began three years and was fully implemented on the first day of school this year.

ASB Elections

ASB elections for the 2017-2018 school year are beginning!  Any current 6th or 7th grader can run for an ASB office.  Current 8th graders will not be participating in this election. 

Current 6th graders can run for the following offices: 7th grade Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, Director of Service, or 7th grade Site Council Rep.

Current 7th graders can run for ASB President, 8th grade Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, Director of Service, or 8th grade Site Council Rep.  A sign up sheet is located on the counter in the office. 

Please sign up by Friday, May 5.  On Monday, May 8 there will be a candidate meeting during lunch in room 10 to discuss the election process.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Nelson in room 10.

FBLA


Congratulations to Dana's Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students who competed in the state competition in Sacramento during spring break. This was an especially prestigious honor because Dana was one of only three middle schools to make it to this high level. These students competed against over 75 high schools in California. Congratulations to all of our students for all of their hard work and dedication, an an extra big congratulations to 8th grader Ally Fung for taking 6th place in FBLA procedures. Way to go Dana!
Spring Grams

ASB is holding its last gram sale of the year in April. Spring Grams will be sold from April 12 to May 1 for $1 each. Students can send a real flower and a note to a friend. Deliveries will take place on May 4. Don't miss out on this last opportunity to send a gift to a good friend!
Catalina Science Academy
 
Attention all 6th graders! It’s already time to start thinking about the 7th grade field trip to Catalina. Next year’s camp will run from October 17-20, 2017. Payments need to be submitted to Ms. Tan in the office to secure a spot.
 
Payment Options:
  • A one-time payment of $450
    • Due 2/28/2017​​
OR
  • 3 installments of the total ($450):
    • 1st installment of $150 –Due 2/28/2017
    • 2nd installment of $150 –Due 5/5/2017
    • 3rd installment of $150 –Due 8/14/2017 at Ports O’ Call

Science Olympiad


The Dana Science Olympiad Team won the Antelope Valley Regional Competition on February18 for the fourth year in a row! The are headed to the state competition on April 8. Congratulations to our award-winning Science Olympiad Team! 
Peer Tutoring

Peer tutoring begins on Tuesday, September 20 and will run all year. It takes place in the Dana library on Mondays from 3:05-3:50, Tuesdays from 3:15-4:00, and Thursdays from 3:05-3:50.
