Math Competition

Dana scored BIG in the 43rd Annual Bosco Tech Math Competition!

Competing against 400 other students from the region, the Dana 6th grade team took first place in the Large School Division, Level I Competition.  Merrick Hua captured the first place individual award, while Lesha Seletskiy won the third place individual award.

In the Large School Division, Level II, Dana's 7th and 8th grade team took second place.  Mark Lau captured the second place individual award and Taesung Hwang won third.

Congratulations to all of our Mariner mathematicians!  You make us proud!

Pi Day

On Friday, March 13, Dana students will be celebrating all things math through Pi Day! This year, Pi Day is extra special- don't miss 3/14/15 at 9:26.53 am (3.141592653...)! This historic Pi Day will only happen once ever, but since it falls on a Saturday, the math festival at Dana is a day early. Dana students will be reciting digits of pi, competing in a pie eating contest, reciting original math poems, and watching some fun surprises from their teachers!  For more information on Pi Day, please click here to view the flier.
Spelling Bee

The district spelling bee did not disappoint. We are proud of all our spellers here at Dana. Our own Tanya Lee finished in third place overall. The winning student was Anthony Chiang from Foothills Middle School with rapscallion... R-A-P-S-C-A-L-L-I-O-N.  Great job everyone!
Pali Leadership Camp

2015-16 8th Graders: It is time to sign up for Pali Leadership Camp! We will be going to camp in September of next school year. Now is the time to start your payment plan. The first payment is due March 1 in the amount of $105 or you can pay the full amount of $315 by May. Hope to see you there!

Arcadia Educational Foundation

AEF: dedicated to making our kids prepared and competitive for college!

The sole purpose of the Arcadia Educational Foundation (AEF) is to raise funds to ensure that students of the Arcadia Unified School District (AUSD) are prepared and competitive for colleges and careers. AEF fundraising allowed AUSD to hire two new counselors to support students during transitional periods in their education. AEF is committed to the transitional counselors and strives to hire one or more dedicated college counselors, but in order to do so, money must be raised every year. Successful educational foundations such as San Marino and La Canada have ~60% participation rates. In contrast, only 4% of AUSD families contribute. If every student in the district could just donate $20 more than they did last year, AEF would have sufficient funds for both the transitional and college counselors.
Consider supporting AEF in better equipping our students for the future. Donations may be made by check payable to "AEF" or online by credit card. Visit  www.ArcadiaEdFoundation.org to read the full article on AEF's commitment to counselors, also available in Chinese.
