Arcadia Unified Gives Every Student a Chromebook

Each of the nearly 10,000 students in the Arcadia Unified School District now has their own Chromebook. All middle school and high school students can even bring their Chromebooks home to use. The 1:1 Student to Technology device program began three years and was fully implemented on the first day of school this year.

Catalina Science Academy
 
Attention all 6th graders! It’s already time to start thinking about the 7th grade field trip to Catalina. Next year’s camp will run from October 17-20, 2017. Payments need to be submitted to Ms. Tan in the office to secure a spot.
 
Payment Options:
  • A one-time payment of $450
    • Due 2/28/2017​​
OR
  • 3 installments of the total ($450):
    • 1st installment of $150 –Due 2/28/2017
    • 2nd installment of $150 –Due 5/5/2017
    • 3rd installment of $150 –Due 8/14/2017 at Ports O’ Call

AVID
 
6th & 7th grade parents: ​AVID will soon be hosting a recruitment meeting for students who are interested in applying for this academic elective for the 2017-18 school year. The meeting will take place after on March 16 at 7:45pm (after Open House) in room 2. To view and complete the AVID application, please CLICK HERE.

8th grade parents: Arcadia High School is hosting a meeting on Wednesday, March 15 at 6:00 p.m. to provide potential applicants and their parents with information on the AVID program. It will take place in the lecture hall at Arcadia High School. 
 
What is AVID? It is a rigorous academic elective that prepares students for admission into a four-year university. Students are taught study skills, note-taking, time management, writing, and research skills. Please come and find out more about AVID!
FBLA

Dana FBLA competition team competed at the Gold Coast sectional competition on Saturday, February 4. Dana was one of three middle schools in the competition along with seventeen high schools. We are very proud to be sending five of our students to compete in the FBLA State competition to be held April 6-9 in Sacramento. Go Dana FBLA!


 

Science Olympiad


The Dana Science Olympiad Team won the Antelope Valley Regional Competition on February18 for the fourth year in a row! The are headed to the state competition on April 8. Congratulations to our award-winning Science Olympiad Team! 
Peer Tutoring

Peer tutoring begins on Tuesday, September 20 and will run all year. It takes place in the Dana library on Mondays from 3:05-3:50, Tuesdays from 3:15-4:00, and Thursdays from 3:05-3:50.
